Clearing

Well... at least 1 thing was completed. The area for the house has now been cleared. This would not have been done nearly as fast as it was without the help of my Dad! We got the trackhoe delivered on Tuesday, Dec. 26 at 8AM. By the end of the day on Tuesday, we had cleared the remainder of the driveway and had most of the yaupon stumps removed as well as a few small trees. I was able to get off work on Wednesday as well. We were able to remove all the trees from where the house is going to sit. On Thursday and Friday while I was at work, my dad was able to remove all the root balls from the 10 or so trees we removed on Wednesday and bury them towards the back of the clearing. Saturday and Sunday we removed the remainder of trees that would be too close to the house and stacked them to the side. Hopefully, they guy who is going to purchase the timber will be out this week to pick it up. Maybe there will be a little progress made on the replat as well...

These are from the first day of clearing.

I don't know why but the image of the person cracked me up.

And from the last day of clearing

Where all the root balls and brush are buried.

Waiting...

Still waiting on the replat to be 100% completed. If we want an update we have to call them. Even so, there is no guarantee they will call us back. The mylar should be ready to sign this week. They guy we were going to get to clear is waaaaay to expensive. I am still trying to talk him down. If it does not work out, we will be doing it ourselves. Most likely the week between Christmas and New Years. We have underbrushed most of the area where the house is going to sit as well as some of the surrounding areas for a yard. I have been working relentlessly on the exterior doors and garage doors. Should not be too much longer 'til we get them wrapped up. Hopefully the next time I get around to updating this 2 things will be done, the land will be cleared and the replat will be completed.
