September Update

I have forgotten how long it has been since I have updated this. It's getting late so just a quick update. I got a quote from Blue Ox Concrete in Spring TX to do the pad and foundation. Pad quote, not bad at all; foundation quote, not bad either. One catch though, they seemed shocked to see such a "beefy" foundation as they described. It gave me the impression they had never done anything like it before. We decided to let Blue ox do the pad but not the foundation. We signed the contract for the pad and sent it over to them. They came back a week later and said they would not do just the pad. They said they would not make enough money off just the pad and they wanted to do the foundation as well. No where in the contract did it say one was contingent upon the other. In my eyes, this is a breach of contract on their part. Time of the essence, we found someone else to do the pad 1 week later. After 40 truck loads of dirt and a torn up driveway, we now have the pad down. We couldn't be happier with the guy we hired to do the work. ALWAYS showed up on time, very friendly, fast, efficient worker, and even helped smooth the driveway back out when he was done. We have now hired Keystone concrete to do the foundation. Forming material and rebar is onsite. They have steaked out were the piers are to be drilled (although 4 are in the wrong place). On Tuesday the piers will be drilled, rebar tied and inserted, and the concrete for the piers will be poured.
