It's done!

The night before...

The foundation is ready to be poured. All the forms are done and seem to be correct. We noticed, for some reason, they decided to put a brace on a plumbing pipe and in doing so, shot a nail through it. It appears where the nail pierces the pipe is high enough above the foundation so we can cut if off and splice a new piece on. We pour tomorrow at 7AM...

Concrete

The concrete will be poured on Wednesday. Hopefully, the sewer line and water will go in on Saturday & Sunday. More dirt and crushed concrete will be delivered on Thursday and Friday to repair the driveway back to its original state before the dump trucks went rolling through. We'll see how things go!

Today (Monday), it rained. A little over 4". I doubt we will be able to pour this week. Below are pics of the plumbing repairs we completed over the weekend.

Plumbing...

This past Tuesday, the plumber was able to get out to our property and do his thing. He arrived at about 1:30 and finished around 4. At 4:01 it started raining. It only rained for 15 minutes or so, but from the looks of things you would think we got 10 inches. Tuesday night we braved the mud and were able to fill the pipes with water to test for leaks. There were none found. The makeup crew was able to get out on Friday to start cutting the beams and laying the rebar. We ran into on small snag. 2 of the drain pipes were running inside the beams and had to me moved. Also, they managed to hit and break one of the drain pipes. They were planning on coming back out on Saturday and finishing everything up but we told them not to come. I have no idea how we would have made the necessary repairs if they had laid all the rebar! We spent the majority of Saturday repairing the damaged pipe, moving the 2 to a new location and filling them back up with water. Tomorrow (Sunday) we are going to check for leaks, backfill, cleanup, and redress the vapor barrier. A word of advice, give the plumber the engineered foundation plans so they will not run the drain pipes inside of a beam. My main concern was him not running the pipes over the top of or through a pier. I never thought twice about any of the beams...
Next time I'll know better.

Broken pipe repair job by foundation guys. There is no way I could leave a rubber coupling on a pipe UNDER the foundation. If you look close, you can see the pipe is sagging where the rubber coupling is.

Forms

Forms are in place. Over the weekend we will install the underground conduit for electrical/PEX plumbing and also the radon extraction system. The plumber should be out Tuesday. The foundation will be poured, at the earliest, on Friday.

One step closer

On Tuesday, we moved 1 step closer to having a completed foundation. The piers were drilled and poured. Today, Thursday, they began setting the forms for the foundation. Over the weekend the electrical conduit will go in for the kitchen island and the pipe for radon prevention will be laid. Next week the underground plumbing will be installed and hopefully the beams will be cut, rebar laid, and concrete poured.
